Subscription Widget

Also known as: Purchase options, Product-page widget

A subscription widget is the on-page control that lets a shopper choose between buying a product once or subscribing to it, rendered directly on the Shopify product page so there's no separate checkout or redirect.

The subscription widget (Shopify calls the underlying capability 'purchase options') is what a customer actually interacts with on the storefront: a set of radio buttons or a selector offering 'one-time purchase' versus 'subscribe and save', plus the available frequencies. It renders inside the theme, on the product page, using Shopify app blocks and app embeds.

A well-built widget keeps the buying decision in one place — the shopper never leaves the product page or passes through a third-party billing flow. That preserves conversion and keeps the experience native.
